The property of House on Straight Street will be on an acreage and will contain all
facilities needed for a self-sustaining recovery operation. Once fully built, the facilities will include:
- Worship Center/Sanctuary
- Gathering Areas
- Cafeteria
- Kitchen
- Meeting Rooms
- Maintenance Building
- Storage Building
- Sport courts
- Chicken Coop
- Livestock Barn & Field
Detox Facility
The Detox Facility will be a premier operation. We will strive to achieve all medical capabilities possible for such a facility to help care for the safe detoxification from all substances. We aim to turn away no one regardless of their drink or drug of use, and to be able to work with women who are pregnant. We will not conduct services reserved for formal hospital environments, and our medical staff will work within responsible and safe parameters. All necessary medications for residents during their stay will be provided as well.
Worship Center
Our worship center will have a classic church feel to convey structure and order, incorporating pews, a narthex, and transepts. Residents will learn to worship with respect and reverence. The capacity will hold up to 200 people so that our community can welcome others to join for special occasions. There will be a traditional pulpit for preaching and teaching, with an open platform for music, performances, and presentations.
Cafe & Residential Hall
The Residential Hall will have wing for 32 men and a wing for 32 women. It is designed to keep the sexes separate in the majority of their daily undertakings, to help prevent distractions and promote growth in the Lord. Each room will have 4 beds to promote interaction and community. Each wing will have an indoor and outdoor common area. The cafeteria will be shared by men and women residents, with each having a designated side. Long community-style tables will be utilized to promote conversation and edification while communing over meals. We do not aim to make an unnatural environment; we simply want to keep residents focused on their treatment while they are at HOSS to get the most out of their stay. We will have plenty of time to encourage community interaction between men and women, but the Residence Hall will maintain respect for healing and each respective sex’s future.
Staff Houses
There are 9 designated positions that are slated to live on the property in a separate neighborhood-style area lovingly called “Shepherd’s Shire”. We are truly building a community, and we are leading from within the flock. Residents will be able to see the heart and priority in these impactful people among them daily. The positions that will live on the property are:
